Apex Arena contest rules

Competitions are coming soon. For now, Apex Arena runs as a monthly Bicep Curl leaderboard, and only the #1 spot each month wins a prize: 4 months of Apex One+ free. Places 2 and 3 don't win prizes, and no cash prizes are offered. Once 10+ members join, it becomes a full top-3 competition with cash and prizes; we'll publish updated rules, with a new date above, before that starts.

These rules apply to the Apex Arena monthly leaderboard contest run by AO (“we”), the company behind Apex One. By entering a ranked set you agree to them.

1. A contest of skill

This is a skill contest, not a lottery or game of chance. Results depend only on your performance: the most bicep curl reps in a single set, counted by the Apex One camera tracker.

2. Who can enter

• Members with an active Apex One+ subscription, aged 18 or over (or the age of majority where you live).
• AO staff and their households may compete but cannot win prizes.
• Void where prohibited or restricted by law. You are responsible for checking that entering is lawful where you live.

3. The monthly leaderboard

• Exercise: bicep curl with 20 lb (9 kg) dumbbells. You confirm the weight before every ranked set.
• Period: each calendar month in UTC. Boards reset at 00:00 UTC on the 1st.
• Entry: one entry per member per month: your best ranked set counts. You can try as many sets as the fair-play limits allow.
• Counting: every rep must be fully tracked by the camera in a ranked session. Sets that are not fully tracked, use practice modes, or exceed fair-play pace and rate limits are not ranked. Ties go to whoever set the score first.

4. Recording and verification

• Before a ranked set you show your dumbbells to the camera. The ranked set is recorded by the app so it can be verified. Entering means you consent to this recording.
• Recordings are uploaded only for top-10 or personal-best sets, kept privately, viewed only by our admins, and deleted once the month is decided (except the verified winner's). See the privacy policy.
• After the month closes, the top 3 are reviewed in order to find the verified #1. We check the recording for the rep count, the 20 lb / 9 kg weight and fair play. If 1st place can't be verified, the prize goes to the next eligible place. Only one prize is awarded each month.
• If your device can't record, your set can still rank, but a winning set without a recording may not be verifiable and may be disqualified. We may also ask a winner for a short verification video of the winning set.

5. Prize

• For now, the #1 spot each month wins 4 months of Apex One+ free, applied to their subscription after verification: on a monthly plan your next 4 monthly bills are 100% off; on an annual plan your next renewal date moves back 4 months.
• The prize is non-transferable, has no cash value and can't be exchanged for cash or other prizes. If you cancel, any unused free months end with your subscription unless the law requires otherwise.
• The winner receives a congratulations email from hello@apexfitness.io and sees the win in the app.
• Where required by law (for example in Canada), a winner may need to correctly answer a skill-testing question before the prize is awarded.
• You are responsible for any taxes on the prize.
• No other prizes are offered at this time. Cash and prizes for the top 3 are planned for the full competition once 10+ members join, and will only apply once updated rules are published.

6. Fair play and our decisions

Cheating, tampering with the app, using lighter weights, sharing accounts or entering for someone else will lead to disqualification and may lead to account closure. Apex One admins decide all questions about eligibility, counting, verification and winners, and their decisions are final. We may remove any score that we believe breaks these rules.

7. Public boards

Leaderboards, in the app and on the public page at apexfitness.io/bicep-curl-challenge, show your Arena name, optional country flag and best set, never your email. You can hide yourself from public boards in Compete; hidden members aren't eligible for prizes that month.

8. Changes and cancellation

We may change, suspend or end the leaderboard contest, or change these rules for future months, and will show the new date above. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law.
