Apex One is made by AO. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your data.
Camera and video
Motion tracking runs on your phone. Training and rehab video is never recorded, stored or uploaded. Only the counts (sets, reps, time) are saved.
Competition (Apex Arena) recordings
If you choose to enter a monthly competition, your ranked sets are recorded by the app so the winners can be verified (rep count and dumbbell weight). You agree to this each time before a ranked set, and you can always train the same exercise without entering.
- A recording is uploaded only if the set reaches the top 10 or is a personal best; otherwise it is discarded on your phone.
- Recordings are kept in private storage. Only Apex One admins can view them, to verify results.
- When the month is decided, every recording except the verified winner's is deleted. The winner's recording is kept as a record of the prize.
- Your public Arena name, country flag (optional) and best set appear on the board, in the app and on our public challenge page (apexfitness.io/bicep-curl-challenge). Your email never does. You can hide yourself from public boards in Compete.
What we store
- On your device: workouts, settings, rehab program and pain scores.
- If you sign in: your email address, a copy of your workouts, your coaching settings, rehab progress and the date and time you confirmed your physiotherapist or doctor OK'd each rehab program, so they follow you between devices.
- If you subscribe: Stripe handles payment. We keep your subscription status, never your card details.
- If you compete: your Arena name, country (optional), ranked set results and, for top sets, their recordings (see above).
What you type in Rehab
Your description is matched to a program on your phone. It is not sent to us or to any outside service.
Health information
Pain scores and rehab progress are health information. We use them only to adjust your program, and we only store them on our servers if you sign in.
Your choices
- Download your data from Profile.
- Delete a workout from Progress, or everything with Delete my data in Profile. That removes your data from this device and, if signed in, from our servers and closes your account.
Where data lives
Account data is stored with Supabase, payments are handled by Stripe, and the app is served by Vercel. If you accept ad cookies, Meta and Google receive the data described above. They may process data outside your country under standard contractual protections. We follow applicable privacy laws including PIPEDA (Canada), the Australian Privacy Principles, UK GDPR and EU GDPR.
Cookies, ads and analytics
Needed cookies keep you signed in and remember your cookie choice. They are always on.
Ad and analytics cookies (optional). We advertise Apex One on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) and Google (Search, YouTube). With your permission, we use the Meta pixel and the Google tag (Google Ads and Google Analytics) to measure which ads lead to sign-ups and subscriptions. They are loaded only after you choose Accept, or, in the United States, until you choose Turn off. In Canada, the UK, the EU and everywhere else they stay off unless you accept. A browser Global Privacy Control signal counts as a no.
- What they collect: pages viewed on apexfitness.io, the ad you clicked (for example a Google or Meta click ID), device and browser details, and these events: sign-up, checkout started, free month started (with the founding code used) and purchase (plan, price and currency). Meta and Google may combine this with your account on their services under their own privacy policies.
- What they never get: your camera video, workouts, pain scores, rehab answers or card details.
- Campaign source: when you arrive from an ad link, we keep the campaign name (utm tags) in a first-party cookie for 90 days, and the ad click ID only if you accept. If you sign up or subscribe, we save it with your account and your Stripe checkout so we know which campaigns work. It is deleted with your account.
How to opt out:
- Change your choice any time: (also in the footer of every page).
- Meta: Ad preferences and Meta Privacy Policy.
- Google: My Ad Center, the Google Analytics opt-out add-on and how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
- Industry tools: DAA (US), DAAC (Canada) and Your Online Choices (EU/UK).
