Bicep curl: every rep counted.
Curls are where people cheat range the most. Apex One tracks shoulder, elbow and wrist and only counts curls that go all the way up and all the way down.
How to do a bicep curl
Works: Biceps and forearms
- Stand tall holding dumbbells or a band, arms straight, palms forward.
- Keep your elbows by your sides and curl the weight toward your shoulders.
- Squeeze at the top without letting your elbows drift forward.
- Lower slowly until your arms are fully straight.
Common mistakes and how Apex One cues them
Half reps at the bottom
Straighten your arm fully. The rep counts only through full range.
Swinging
The coach cues “keep your upper arm still”. Lighter weight, cleaner reps.
Elbows drifting forward
Pin your elbows to your sides as if holding a towel under each arm.
Camera setup
Keep one shoulder, elbow and wrist in view. Use decent light and keep a plain background if you can. Apex One tells you when it can see you and only counts reps it fully tracked. Video stays on your phone.
Questions
Front or side view?
Either works. Keep one shoulder, elbow and wrist in view the whole time.
Can I compete with curls?
Yes, soon. The Bicep Curl Challenge is coming: #1 each month wins 4 months of Apex One+ free.
Hammer curls?
Yes. The counter tracks elbow angle, so hammer and regular curls count the same way.
