Knee lifts: every rep counted.
High knees and marching in place are simple indoor cardio. Apex One counts each knee lift from a side-on camera, so you can chase a number instead of a timer.
How to do a knee lifts
Works: Hip flexors, quads, calves and cardio
- Stand side-on to the camera, tall, arms bent at your sides.
- Drive one knee up toward hip height, then the other, in a quick rhythm.
- Stay on the balls of your feet and pump your arms.
- For low impact, march instead of jumping.
Common mistakes and how Apex One cues them
Knees too low
Aim for hip height; low lifts may not count.
Leaning back
Stay tall with a slight forward lean, like sprinting in place.
Drifting out of view
Stay on the same spot so hips and knees stay in frame.
Camera setup
Hips and knees in view. Counts steps, not distance. Use decent light and keep a plain background if you can. Apex One tells you when it can see you and only counts reps it fully tracked. Video stays on your phone.
Questions
Does it count distance?
No. It counts knee lifts (steps), not distance or pace.
Can I march instead?
Yes. Marching with knees to hip height counts the same way and is easier on joints.
Phone position?
Side-on at hip height, so your hips and knees stay in view.
